I recently joined the Jane Austen Society. I’m a true Jane Austen fan, having read all her books many, many times. Pride and Prejudice is my all-time favorite novel. The A&E movie version with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy tops my best movie list. So that brings me back to Bath, England. Jane spent several years in Bath, but never really felt at home there. I, on the other hand, thought it was a charming little town.
The Royal Crescent, featured in the Jane Austen’s movie Persuasion is historic and gorgeous.
It is a curved row of 30 terraced houses, designed by architect John Wood the Younger and built between 1767 and1774.
It’s a gorgeous example of Georgian architecture.
Across from The Crescent is a beautiful park.
Are you a Jane Austen fan too? Which novel is your favorite?
Who’s been to Bath?
