If you are anything like me, you don’t start wrapping gifts until a few days before Christmas. If possible, I like to set aside a few hours just to wrap. I light a fire and put on classic holiday movies and have a marathon wrapping session. It becomes part of my Christmas tradition instead of a chore. Instead using basic wrap from the store, I like to create my own. Hey, I don’t make cookies or candy, I make gift wrap!
Nothing could easier or more festive than a box dressed in a Santa suit. Shirt boxes work best, but you can do this on any size box.
Start with red wrapping paper.
You will need black construction or wrapping paper and a silver or gold paper.
Cut strips out of the black for Santa’s belt and tape to the back of the box.
Next cut the silver paper into squares. Use a craft knife to cut out the inside square. Center it on the “belt” and tape or glue in place.
Be ready for the “ooohs” and “aaahs” you will get from the recipients of your special packages. The boxes will too good to open!
I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas. It’s my favorite time of year. Enjoy!
