I just returned from a trip to New York City. I had lots of fun along with a bit of business. The weather was low 40s but sunny every day. We saw a couple of shows on Broadway. Spiderman, a lively musical and A Christmas Story. They turned the movie of Ralphie and his Red Rider into a musical. It was really very good. I hope it tours the country next year, because my family would love it.
Most of the stores and neighborhoods were ready for Christmas with beautiful displays. After all, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade is Thursday and they light the tree at Rockefeller Center next week.
These huge Moravian Star lights were hanging in a mall window at Columbus Circle. They changed color from this beautiful blue and purple to yellow and green to red and pink. You can see the bleachers to the left for spectators to watch the Macy’s parade.
Lobbies are huge in big buildings and so are trees. This one must have been 18 feet tall!
The Empire State Building windows replicated the iconic landmark in gold, silver and white.
This was a hoot. Oversize carolers perched on a window ledge in the Flatiron neighborhood.
I wish I could have taken more holiday decoration photos, but it’s hard to get a good shot from a moving cab!
