Make Picture Stands From Old Door Knobs
I live in an old farmhouse. As we remodeled our home, we shopped flea markets and antique stores for vintage items. Although some of our doors are old, many had to be replaced, but they all have antique knobs. Of course I bought more than I needed.
Old glass knobs have their own vintage charm, so I had to come up with another way to use them ~ voila! Place card stands and picture holders.
I like the patina of old rusty wire, but you can purchase a new roll from the hardware store.
Push the wire through the hole on top and through the side hole and wrap around the base a few times so the wire will stand up.
Be creative when bending the wire. The final result should have an organic feel. Twist the end in a couple of circles (paper clip style) to hold pictures in place.
The stands are perfect for photos. It takes up little space on your desk and you can change them every week.
Or, for your next dinner party, use old pictures of your family or friends as place cards. What a way to reminisce about the old days!
