Show the love with a special meal this Valentine’s Day. It doesn’t take much more work to set a beautiful table than to lay out paper plates and the results are always appreciated.
Red is a powerful color. A little bit goes a long way especially when its paired with black and white.
Instead of the usual charger, I found old records at Goodwill. I love the really old ones because they are thicker and have interesting labels. Look for romantic love songs for your VD dinner party.
You know how much I love dishes, so I am always on the look-out for interesting plates in sets of 8, 10 or 12. I’ve used these silver rimmed, black border plates for all sorts of occasions. Paired with the red hearts I showed you last week, they’re perfect of February 14.
I need a bit more color since I’m using a white table cloth, so I casually wrapped the stems of the wine glasses with left-over (from Christmas) wire-edge ribbon.
Napkins are also the same ones I’ve used at Christmas.
- Fold in quarters to make a square.
- Starting at one corner, roll into a cylinder shape.
- Insert into an icy-crystal napkin ring.
Cut out single hearts to scatter on the table as confetti. Make your favorite dish or order take-out. It doesn’t matter what you serve as long as it’s served with love.
Happy Valentine’s Day.
