My home office has been in a second floor walk-through landing space for years. Let me explain. Our home is over 120 years old. The original house had two second story bedrooms. Over the years there have been several additions. The smaller room was opened up for access to new bedrooms. Thus the landing status.

The space is really charming (although small) with the slanted ceilings and old wood floor. There is even a window overlooking the backyard.
Tom designed a built-in shelving unit for a fish tank and books. When that hobby ran its course, I purchased a desk to fit the space and moved my computer and design books in.
I’ve really out grown the space. Patrick’s old bedroom has started to become a catch-all, so I decided to take the plunge and crave out a home office that suits my needs. I’m very excited to have room to spread out projects, set up a photo studio, get creative and keep the mess behind closed doors when I’m too busy to tidy up.

Red, white and blue was the theme for this bedroom when we first decorated it. Old plaster was camoflaged with navy sponge paint and stenciled stars.
