Celebrate Mom
The most important day of the year is May 8, Mother’s Day. At least that is what I always told my kids! What better way to honor Mom than with brunch or luncheon. Of course that starts with a beautifully set table.
Almost everything I used came from my shopping trips at Goodwill stores. I always check out house wares first and furniture second when I shop re-sale.
The turquoise and black place mats were a steal at 4 for $1.99.
They go perfectly with this set of vintage plates. The blue and green flowers have an almost tropical feel. If we can’t get to Hawaii, why not pretend?
I couldn’t believe my good luck when I found these coordinating napkins. Whenever I shop at Goodwill stores, I scoop up anything that has “potential”. I never know when I might use it or what I may find that goes with it. Never pass up a bargain!
I’ve been collecting French Arcoroc black octagonal soup bowls, mugs and stemware for quite some time. I’ve seen them at antique stores for as much as $10.00 a piece. Black dishes are just as versatile as white dinnerware.
The glass frames are coasters. But Mom would love the set with personal family photos. Dig out old pictures of you and your siblings as kids. They make the perfect nostalgic gift.
Let mom take the bouquet home with her after lunch.
Treat the woman in your life to a special meal this Mother’s Day!
And lavish her with gifts from the heart.
