Silver Bells ~ A Winter Table Setting

A silver and white theme is lovely on a cold winter night.
Nothing is more elegant than a table set in silver and white. This place setting would be perfect for a formal Christmas Eve or even a New Year’s Eve dinner party.
It’s not always necessary to use a table cloth or placemats. The wood table serves as a beautiful contrast to the silver chargers.

When doing a monochromatic color scheme, really get into it. Vary the color shades and textures.
This time I used matching dinnerware, placing the salad dish close to the bottom of the dinner plate for an asymmetrical feel. You need to shake things up when everything matches. Table settings should never be perfect; they should be beautiful and comfortable!

Traditionally, the charger or dinner plate should be within an inch from the edge of the table. There aren't any rules about where to place the salad plate!
I even found silver rimmed wine and cordial glasses.

Look for coordinating glasses and stemware, but they don't need to be from the same set.
The grey napkins are folded accordion style and tucked into a mirror napkin ring and placed at the top of the dish.

I love how the cotton napkin contrasts with the sparkly, mirror napkin rings.
The centerpiece is a trio of tall stemmed candle holders with glittery ornaments scattered randomly on the table. Make sure your centerpiece isn’t so high that guests cannot see one another across the table.

Lots of candles will really warm up this dinner.

I like the simplicity of the silver ornaments, but I could have added confetti and glitter too.
However you set your table this holiday season, be sure to put your Signature Style on it and make it your own!

I found the plates, glasses napkin rings, candle holders and ornaments at Goodwill. You really can set a beautiful table on a budget!
Merry Christmas!
I love everything you’ve created for this table setting…
Especially, that you did not use a tablecloth or placemats, never seen!
The grey is so classic and again not expected in a holiday setting.
I especialy think the whimsy of the loose bulbs scattered about make this
setting a refreshing twist from the traditional typical table setting!
